Responsible Betting Policy
Protection-first tools should reduce blind decisions—not encourage more betting activity.
The role of PLA
Direct answer: PLA is a risk-management and educational platform, not a substitute for personal limits or a reason to continue gambling.
The platform interprets saved wagers, live game context, current opposite markets, timing, and protection math. It may show Hold, Watch, Actionable, Cash-Out Floor Protection, Original Stake Protection, Maximum-Upside Floor, or a qualifying positive-profit opportunity. The user remains responsible for deciding whether to act.
PLA does not control the game, sportsbook acceptance, line availability, settlement, or whether an original wager wins.
A $0 recommendation is a safeguard
Direct answer: The system should not manufacture a hedge merely because the bettor feels uncomfortable.
PLA may recommend $0 when the protection market is incomplete, too early, too expensive, stale, outside the user’s selected books, or likely to sacrifice more upside than the protection is worth. A favorite trailing early can remain Watch. A stronger original position can return to Hold. An Actionable window can disappear when the line moves.
No action is still a decision. Risk management is not measured by how many additional wagers are placed.
Personal limits come first
Direct answer: Users should decide their money and time limits before the game begins and should never increase those limits to chase a loss.
- Use only money that can be lost without affecting housing, food, transportation, healthcare, debt payments, or other necessities.
- Do not borrow money, use emergency funds, or use credit intended for essential expenses.
- Do not chase a losing bet with a larger live wager.
- Do not interpret a prior win as proof that the next bet is safer.
- Take a break when betting stops being recreational or begins affecting sleep, relationships, work, or finances.
A hedge may reduce one position’s loss while increasing total exposure. PLA shows that exposure so the user can decide whether the additional stake fits the limit already established.
Alerts are information, not pressure
Direct answer: A contextual alert should explain what changed and what the options are without creating false urgency.
Alerts should identify the affected wager, impact, live context, current market, recommendation state, and exact protection math. They should not use language implying the user must act, that a sports result is certain, or that missing one opportunity requires placing another wager later.
Users should be able to ignore an alert, choose Hold, or stop tracking a wager without penalty.
Guaranteed Profit wording
Direct answer: PLA may use a conditional mathematical guarantee only for a qualifying setup with positive net profit across every explicitly covered settlement outcome.
The bettor must place the exact recommended wagers before the market changes. The sportsbook must accept the full stakes at the displayed odds. No wager may be voided, regraded, limited, rejected, partially accepted, or settled under different rules.
This arithmetic condition does not predict the game and does not guarantee every recommendation, every parlay, or every betting session will be profitable.
When to stop using the product
Direct answer: Stop and seek support when betting feels difficult to control, creates financial harm, or is being used to escape stress, anxiety, or other problems.
Warning signs can include increasing stakes to recover losses, hiding betting activity, borrowing money, missing obligations, being unable to stop, or continuing despite harm.
In the United States, the National Council on Problem Gambling lists the National Problem Gambling Helpline as 1-800-MY-RESET for call or text support and connections to help by state. Visit the official NCPG helpline page for current information. This service is not an emergency service. In an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services.
Age and legal access
Direct answer: PLA should be used only by adults who meet the legal gambling age and are located where the relevant betting activity is lawful.
Users are responsible for following local laws, sportsbook terms, account restrictions, self-exclusion requirements, and age-verification rules. PLA does not authorize betting where it is prohibited.
Use protection tools within a fixed limit
Review how PLA calculates exposure and how settlement changes can affect the displayed outcome before tracking a live wager.
